The Centers for Pluralism have developed and supported a wide range of democracy advancement programs  throughout the region and IDEE has drawn upon the Centers for Pluralism Network to help develop these and other regional programs. They include Civic Bridges in Yugoslavia (1997-2002), the Women's NGO Leadership and Networking Initiative in the Caucasus (1999-2002), and a similar program for Central Asia (2001-2002), and more recently an Azerbaijan Election Monitoring Mission for the Presidential Elections in Azerbaijan (2003), a Community and Citizens’ Participation Program in Armenia (2003-2004), a Belarus Election Monitoring Mission (2004), a Democratization in Central Asia program (2003-2005), among others. Through these and its ongoing programs, IDEE has reached out to many new organizations to join in its region-wide network. In addition, IDEE continues to provide support to Cuban democrats through a Cuban Democracy Program, with activities aimed at continuing to share experiences that can help in the bringing about of democratic change on the island.

IDEE also continues its activities in support for the peace-making, information, and humanitarian work of Chechen NGOs, which valiantly struggle in the face of Russia’s brutal war against their nation.
